Motherhood is often painted in soft pastels and lullabies, but I’ve found it to be far more vivid than that. It’s spilled juice on freshly mopped floors. It’s crying in the car after preschool drop-off. It’s laughing mid-breakdown because someone called you “poopy-head” and meant it lovingly.
